Eduardo Moncada isĀ Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Barnard College at Columbia University. In addition to his current book project on how relations between city governments and business interests shape policy responses to urban violence and citizen security, Eduardo’s areas of interest include the political economy of development, comparative urban politics, and democratization. His research has been supported by the American Society of Criminology, the Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship Program, the Fulbright Hays program, the Graduate Program in Development (GPD) and the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at Brown University, the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation, the Program on Order, Conflict and Violence (OCV) at Yale University, and the Social Science Research Council (SSRC). During the 2011-12 academic year Eduardo will be on leave from Rutgers University to complete his book project while working as Assistant Professor and Faculty Fellow at the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University (NYU).
