Erin Beck is an assistant professor at the University of Oregon, teaching Latin American Politics and Gender and Development. She received her PhD from the Department of Political Science in May 2012. Her work focuses on the causes and effects of women’s varying forms and levels of participation in microcredit NGOs in rural Guatemala. Her previous awards include the Terrence P. Hopman Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, and the Graduate Program in Development Summer Research Award.
