Dr Agupusi is a Research Fellow and Associate Tutor at the School of International Development at the University of East Anglia, UK. Her research centers on political economy and philosophical thought, with particular focus on how public and private institutions shape societal development. Her approach is to take global issues and deconstruct them to a micro-level through themes such as inequality, comparative politics, corporate social responsibility, small business development and empowerment. Her most recent research includes comparative analysis of racial inequality and social justice in South Africa and the United States. She is currently investigating “home-grown” development initiatives in Africa that have been put in place between 1990 and 2009, focusing specifically on Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya.
