The following research institutes in the Global South are affiliated with GPD:

Universidad Nacional de San Martin (UNSAM), Buenos Aires, Argentina
Pontifica Universidad Catolica de Chile (PUC), Santiago, Chile

These institutions are located in five countries where the questions of social, economic, and political inequality are particularly pronounced. All of our partners are internationally recognized centers of research, have diverse and multidisciplinary faculty and research interests, and are institutionally well-equipped to host Brown graduate students. All five have existing ties with Brown faculty and have ongoing research projects that intersect directly with the program’s five research initiatives.

Our international partners are committed to hosting GPD trainees for summer field work and developing collaborative research projects. GPD hosts visiting scholar and graduate students from our partner institutes. Visitors participate both as trainees and instructors in the program. GPD is exploring collaborations with a number of other institutions.
