Victor Ogbonnaya Okorie

Senior Lecturer, Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria

Victor Ogbonnaya Okorie holds a joint PhD in Development and Anthropology of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. He teaches at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.  Victor has been a fellow of The World Academy of Sciences, Goethe University of Frankfurt, Germany; the Brown International Advanced Research Institutes, Brown University, USA; the International Social Science Council, France; and the global fellow at the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies, Brown University, USA. He was a laureate of the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) and is an alumnus of the African Peacebuilding Network, a program of the Social Science Research Council, USA. He was a Carnegie fellow of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. He has research interests on slow violence, mass atrocities, and cultural-based triage system in humanitarian space.  Victor has received over twenty highly competitive grants. He also reviews grants for some funding agencies across the globe and has over fifty publications.
