Norooz (Persian New Year) – Party Like it's 1398!

Persian New Year or Norooz marks the beginning of the new year in the Iranian calendar and is the Spring Equinox (first day of spring). It has been celebrated by Iranians for at least 3000 years and continues to be an important event for all Iranians and the larger Persian diaspora all over the world.

This year, we are celebrating Norooz at Sayles Hall. Join the Brown Iranian Students Association (BISA) and Iranian Graduate Students Association (IGSA) as we celebrate the beginning of 1398 AND the first day of spring!

Get ready for a night of :

  • Delicious Persian food
  • Traditional saffron ice-cream
  • Performances by talented students and faculty
  • Tons of dancing!
  • 200 people with semi-formal attire!

Doors open at 7:30 PM, with dinner served at 7:30 PM. We start the performances at 8:00 PM. Don't be late, you might not find any food if you come late.

Our space is limited to 200 people, so please sign up, and if you do, please come. We'd love to have as many people as possible, and we want to accommodate as many people as possible.
