The V&A wishes to appoint a specialist in art and design from the contemporary Middle East. The new curator will be responsible for the Museum’s activities in this field and for the Jameel Prize, managing the selection process and curating exhibitions of the finalists’ work. For this task, the post-holder will need an understanding of international contemporary art and design inspired by Islamic tradition. S/he will have a thoroughly international outlook and appropriate language skills, museum experience and academic training.

On appointment, the post-holder will join a team of curators with responsibility for the Museum’s Asian collections. As curators, we create exhibitions and gallery displays, make acquisitions, teach students at a variety of levels, organise and take part in Museum events, and publish electronically and in book and article form.
