Alumna Katherine Long '15.5 puts her Persian language skills to use in Central Asia

After completing her Fulbright research project in Tajikistan, Katherine moved to Washington DC, where she works as a project management associate for USAID contractor Chemonics International Inc., overseeing a literacy project in Kyrgyzstan and an agriculture project in Tajikistan. She also collaborates with the International Rescue Committee and Vox Media on the podcast Displaced, where she searches for solutions to end human suffering every week.

She says "I love that I'm able to use my Persian language skills in my work and to travel to Central Asia and the former Soviet Union to research and write new project proposals."

She plans to attend Columbia Journalism School in the fall.
