Berke Türkay recently earned his bachelor’s degree from Brown University with a concentration in applied mathematics-economics. As a research assistant at the Watson Institute, he analyzed Brazil’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and helped design a course for MPA students. He hopes to work on international development, poverty reduction, and education. As an undergraduate, Berke was the co-president of the Applied Math departmental student group, which helps students with research and job opportunities. Berke speaks fluent Turkish. He is from Istanbul, Turkey, and was born in Japan.
