Chamika Wanigatunga most recently worked at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in the group tours division before assuming an expanded role encompassing both front-line and back-end functions. He worked with the Met’s visitor experience division as the museum underwent a major rebrand and a controversial admissions policy change. Chamika believes that technological advances such as artificial intelligence and 3-D printing will create fundamental changes in the global economy. He wants to use his experience in the MPA program to help communities adapt to these changes while fostering greater equality in the distribution of social and economic resources. Chamika immigrated to the U.S. from Sri Lanka as a child. He received his bachelor's degree from Hunter College with a double major in political science and anthropology and a double minor in international affairs and English.
