David Yokum is the director of The Policy Lab at Brown, which applies public policy research with state and local governments across the United States, including a special focus on Rhode Island. He was the founding director of The Lab @ DC in the D.C. Mayor’s Office and, before that, the White House’s Social and behavioral sciences team. An example of his work — a randomized evaluation of a police body-worn camera program—is at bwc.thelab.dc.gov. David earned a JD/PhD (psychology: cognition and neural systems) from the University of Arizona, a master’s degree in bioethics and medical humanities from the University of South Florida, and a BS in biology from Birmingham-Southern College.
