Jessica Burbank is managing editor of Brill’s Journal of Asian and African Studies. She previously was a lobbyist for The Borgen Project, a national campaign that works with U.S. foreign policy leaders to improve their response to global poverty. Jessica has also worked on local economic development through the Makhoneni Social Entrepreneurship Project in Langa, South Africa. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Wells College. Her degree is in political science and international studies, with concentrations in Africana studies and first nations indigenous studies.
