The inaugural class of an innovative MBA program incorporating the humanities and social sciences is meeting at the Watson Institute and other centers on campus this week, as part of a partnership between Brown and Spain’s Instituto de Empresa.
"Today's business leaders must be so much more aware of the world as a whole," according to Craig Cogut '75, a Brown Corporation trustee and co-managing partner of Pegasus Capital Advisors. His remarks, reported in a Brown Daily Herald article about Sunday’s convocation ceremony, pointed to the new kinds of leadership skills to be fostered by the IE-Brown Executive MBA Program.
The Watson Institute is providing expertise in international studies and knowledge institutions in support of the program, which is administered at Brown by the Office of Continuing Education with academic direction by Professors David Bach and Angus Kingon. Watson-affiliated faculty will be involved in instruction in the coming months and in analyzing the development of this new approach.
