Why countries are walling themselves in – and others out

Peter Andreas, a political scientist and immigration expert at Brown University, commented on an article about border security and immigration. Andreas explains that the increase in border security has done little to stop migration from South America, however what it did is change was migration patterns, Andreas said. Now, migration has "moved away from major visible urban centers, out of the public eye, and pushed it into remote, distant, dangerous terrain."
