Senior Fellow in International and Public Affairs
Zairo Cheibub is a Senior Fellow at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs. Prior, to joining Brown, Cheibub served as a professor of political science at Fluminense Federal University in Niteraoi, Brazil, where he taught courses in research methods, statistical analysis, political theory and Brazilian politics and social policy. He also co-founded and directed DataUff, the university's Applied Social Science and Public Policy Center. At DataUff Cheibub coordinated and was the principal investigator for numerous electoral and social values surveys and conducted numerous program evaluations for both the federal and local governments in Brazil. He is the author of numerous articles on elite values and support for democracy, corporate responsibility, and labor relations in the public sector. In addition to his academic work, Cheibub also worked as director of sustainability at a natural fibers rug company in New England.
