Brown pollster defends discrepancies in primary projections

April 28, 2016 Providence Journal

James Morone, director of the Taubman Center for American Politics and Policy, defended the discrepancy between his poll and the results of the Rhode Island primaries. "I believe this poll was accurate for when it was taken, a week before the election," Morone told the Providence Journal. "This suggests that this was an election that was up for grabs a week beforehand. The outcome was wrong because we had a large number of undecided — a whole lot of undecideds who broke in the insurgent direction. We'll have our pencils ready for them the next time."
