Kerala, India took aggressive public health measures supplemented by wide-ranging social initiatives that provided residents with the means to cope with their personal complications during the pandemic. This included generous welfare measures such as free food supplies given to those in need. This study makes the comparison between Kerala and the United States, highlighting the stark differences in proactive measures taken by each government and the subsequent number of COVID-19 cases that followed as a result.
