Population Studies and Training Center

Population Studies and Training Center

The Population Studies and Training Center is a demography research and training center with strong connection to three social science departments – Anthropology, Economics, and Sociology – as well as links to public health, political science, education, and environmental studies. The Center's researchers, including many Institute-affiliated faculty, seek to understand the social structures and systems underlying population structure and well-being so as to inform major social issues and policy.

Rhodes Center

William R. Rhodes Center for International Economics and Finance

The Rhodes Center contributes to policy on international issues by promoting scholarly research and enhancing teaching in international economics. Its roster of investigators includes Watson Institute faculty as well as scholars from other departments at Brown, other universities, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank. The Center sponsors conferences, funds speakers and visitors, and grants seed money for promising research.

IE Brown MBA

IE Brown Executive MBA

The IE Brown Executive MBA is a partnership between the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid and Brown. It is designed to develop informed, globally minded, and innovative leaders. Along with the School of Engineering and the Cogut Center for the Humanities, the Institute is active in both the teaching and overall governance of this innovative mid-career executive MBA program.

US Naval War College

U.S. Naval War College

In June 2014, the Watson Institute and the U.S. Naval War College signed a Research and Education Memorandum of Agreement that enhances opportunities for faculty and students of both Rhode Island academic research and teaching institutions to engage each other and their respective expertise in addressing challenges to international security.
