Industry, Sports and Corporate Careers in India: A Conversation with Parth Jindal '12

Join us for a conversation between Parth Jindal '12 and Ashutosh Varhsney that will explore Indian economic growth, business and entrepreneurial opportunities, building an athletic franchise and pipeline for competition at the highest level of sport. Parth will also be promoting a range of internship opportunities for Brown students at JSW Group in the sports, philanthropic, and steel arms of the organization, which are now live on Brown's Center for Career Exploration website. Parth Jindal graduated from Brown with a double concentration in Economics and Political Science and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. While at Brown, Parth played on the Men’s Varsity Squash Team.

Parth Jindal is the Managing Director of JSW Cement, Managing Director of JSW Paints (launched in May 2019) and serves as a Director of JSW Energy, Director of JSW Ventures and Director of JSW USA. Within JSW Group, Parth leads Human Resources, Information Technology, Sustainability and Digital functions.

Parth is the founder of JSW Sports, owner and manager of Bengaluru FC, Pro-Kabaddi League team Haryana Steelers and he is Chairman and Co-Owner of the IPL cricket team the Delhi Capitals. Parth also founded the Inspire Institute of Sport, a project to elevate India’s Olympic athletes.

Parth is the youngest Business Leader on the ‘2019 Economic Times 40 under Forty’ list, ‘GQ’s 50 Most Influential Young Indians for 2018’ and a 2018 Youth Icon for his contribution to the Nation.

Parth will be promoting a number of exciting summer internship opportunities for Brown students, at JSW Group, a $23 billion diversified steel company based in Mumbai. JSW is offering the following opportunities with the following parameters:

Internship Location: Mumbai, however, based on the project requirement the intern might have to travel to other locations within India.
Tenure: 8 weeks (Anytime between Mid May - July)
Accommodation: Will be provided by JSW GRoup
Travel: International travel and then Intercity during the internship period will be provided by the company. *Local travel during the internship to be borne by the intern
Stipend (Per Month): 1.25 lakhs (approximately $1320 USD) 
Project Allocation: From the plethora of projects presented, the Interns get to select the project of their choice
Mentor / Buddy: Each project has a Mentor & a Buddy assigned to guide them

JSW Sports: Established in 2012, JSW Sports is an integral part of the country’s sporting culture, maximizing the potential of Indian Sports. Today the company’s name is associated with champion teams like Bengaluru FC, Delhi Capitals, Delhi Capitals Women’s Team, Pretoria Capitals, Haryana Steelers, along with our newest foray Bengaluru Phoenix - a digital first team, in the metaverse of One Future Football. 3 Projects

JSW One PlatformLaunched in 2021, One Platform two entities: JSW One MSME and JSW One Homes. The former is an online platform for MSMEs, providing an industrial materials such as steel, welding consumables, TMT bars, and cement. On the other hand, the latter is a digital platform that specializes in end-to-end home construction solutions for individual real estate companies and builders. 3 Projects

JSW Foundation: The philanthropic arm of JSW Group, set up in 1987. The foundation works in the field of education, skill building training, healthcare and social development domains. Besides that, the Foundation is actively involved in restoration projects, including the preservation and restoration of significant archaeological ruins like Hampi Mughal Gardens of Kashmir (Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh), Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue, Maragondanahalli Lake in Bangalore, David Sassoon Library, etc. 4 Projects.
