This event is for students only.

The Taubman Center for American Politics and Policy will present “Politics and Policy Careers: Looking Ahead” featuring Watson Senior Fellow Bill Allen and Taubman Center Interim Director Richard Arenberg.

Brown University students are invited to join us for a broad discussion of careers in politics and policy with the faculty panel. Professor Allen has a strong focus on state and local affairs. He has served as Executive Vice President for the United Way of Rhode Island, as an elected local School Committee Chair in Cumberland, RI, and teaches a range of courses in public policy. Professor Arenberg is a veteran of 34 years working on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. He teaches U.S. Congress, the American Presidency, Political Communication and a number of other courses.

The conversation will likely encompass stories about what it is like to serve in these policy arenas, what are the education and experience backgrounds most sought after by potential employers, some strategies for seeking out jobs, and the opportunity for students to ask specific questions.
