Catherine Atterbury received her bachelor's degree in anthropology from University of California, Berkeley, where she discovered her interest in public policy. As an undergraduate, she worked for a variety of nonprofit organizations including the Berkeley Gender Equity Resource Center and the Kenya Forest Service. Catherine has spent the last four years working in public health, first as a development specialist at the Public Health Institute, where she assisted over 80 programs to identify areas to maximize their scope and impact and then partner with private and government entities for funding. Most recently she was a community development manager at the American Cancer Society, helping mobilize communities to advocate for better health care. She is originally from Martinez, California.
