Taming hubris

In his December 17, 2018 Indian Express article, Ashutosh Varshney discusses the results of the recent state assembly elections. Varshney argues that the BJP's defeat in three Hindi-heartland states opens up the clear possibility of a competitive parliamentary elections in a few months and that the odds that the BJP can win the parliamentary elections on its own have gone down significantly.  A strong opposition alliance, either states-based or nationwide, is very likely to emerge.
