This event is for Brown University Community Members Only.

One of the most important events of the 2020 election will be the first presidential debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden. Beginning with the famous Kennedy-Nixon debate in 1960, historically, presidential debates have played a key role in election day outcomes.

The Taubman Center for American Politics and Policy and the Swearer Center will jointly host a virtual First Presidential Debate Watch Party on September 29, 2020 from 8:30pm to 10:30pm.

Join students and faculty to watch the action as we livestream the debate. Swearer Center Interim Director Betsy Shimberg and Taubman Center Interim Director Richard Arenberg will provide commentary from 8:30pm to 9:00pm prior to the start of the debate. During the debate itself, audience comment and conversation with the panel will be conducted in the “chat” feature of the webinar. We hope you will share your reactions, questions, and ideas with peers and professors throughout the viewing!
