Anusha Gupta

Anusha (she/her) is a senior studying Public Health and Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her project with the Stone Inequality Initiative investigates the role of the model minority myth in obscuring wealth inequality within Asian-American immigrant communities. She will examine how institutionalized structures protect the wealthy, exacerbating disparities, and how this myth influences both the scapegoating and marginalization of lower-income Asian Americans. This research will also explore Asian-American women's unique economic challenges, given their intersecting experiences of race, class, and gender. After graduating from Brown University, Anusha plans to attend medical school and work on issues of healthcare access and equity.
