Imani Stewart

Imani (she/her) is a Gender and Sexuality Studies concentrator and third-year RUE student. Her experience in the Brown student-led venture capital club Van Wickle Ventures inspired her to research more deeply the inequities unique to Black women business owners seeking venture capital. Black women represented fewer than 1% of the recipients of venture capital funds in 2022, which is representative of the usual number fundees. Imani is interested in studying law in the future, and hopes to influence policy change to create a more equitable landscape for Black Americans.
