Kaita Igarashi

Kaita Igarashi is a senior studying Modern Culture and Media on the Production Track. Arms manufacturing plays a pivotal role in our economy now more than ever. However, even as the federal military budget for private defense contracting balloons to over 400 billion dollars per year, the sector remains largely invisible to the general public. In this short documentary, Clocking Out, we will look behind the veneer of America’s weapons manufacturing industry and ask what the real costs of this wealth accumulation are on our society, economy, and collective psyches. After graduating, Kaita plans to work as an editor/producer at the documentary company Tikkun Olam Productions while simultaneously finishing their aforementioned short film.
