December 11, 2023

Maria Isabel Marin CLACS Center Manager

A native of MedellĂn, Colombia, Maria Isabel moved to the United States early in life but remains deeply connected to her Colombian heritage and to the Hispanic community here in Rhode Island. She graduated in Political Science from Guilford College with a double minor in integrated science and religious studies, and has extensive experience leading projects that advocate for diversity and inclusion at all levels of society. Most recently, she was Health Equity Director at the Pawtucket Family YMCA, where she spearheaded local initiatives to address COVID-19-related health disparities and oversaw collaborative partnerships with local city and state authorities in Central Falls, Pawtucket, and beyond. In her first couple of weeks, Maria Isabel has already energized the Center with her tremendous enthusiasm and can-do attitude.
