Since 2003, Brazil has embarked upon a new strategy for poverty relief under the Bolsa Família (Family Grant) program. What have we learned in ten years? Professor Sugiyama will assess the program and address human capital development, modernization of the bureaucracy, gender empowerment, and citizenship development of the poor.
