In this research Cowan investigates the role of previously unstudied organizations and individuals and in constructing the platform(s) of today’s Religious Right. Brazilians, especially the leadership of TFP, played a critical part in joining moral and social reaction to what became known as fiscal conservatism, helping create an identitarian sense of deregulatory, pro-capitalist, moralistic right-wing activism and ideology.
