Peter Richards

National Science Foundation SBE Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr. Richards’s research focuses on the intersection of environmental, agricultural and socioeconomic change in central and northern Brazil.  His work includes understanding the impact of macro-economic shocks on deforestation and Brazil’s agricultural sector, the role of agriculture in driving urban growth, and the development of small scale gold extraction in the Amazon Basin.
