Students at Brown University are organizing a conference, The Brown China Summit 2014 that will be organized and centered on the theme of the Chinese dream. This theme will be split into different panels that aim to cover all relevant areas of Chinese society: arts, media, education and business.
The Chinese Dream, an ideology that has been propagandized by the Chinese leadership, has always been a hot topic of debate in the social media. The concept of the Chinese Dream has also been very fluid. In a way, the Chinese Dream has been seen to be a vehicle embedding the ideology of the political party. However, such a view is open to personal interpretation on an individual level.
On April 4th and 5th, Brown China Summit 2014 sponsored by Watson Institute China Initiative will be kicked off with the theme “My Chinese Dream”. The summit does not limit the possibilities of topics and allows speakers to define their own speeches.
Free and open to the public.
Registration is required.
