The concentration in Latin American and Caribbean Studies is designed to help students develop an interdisciplinary understanding of culture, history, and contemporary issues in Latin America.

CLACS contributes to graduate education and training at Brown by supporting students' development through courses and events and providing funding for summer fieldwork in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as dissertation fellowships.

The Tinker Foundation’s Field Research Grants Program is designed to provide budding scholars with a first-hand experience of their region of study, regardless of academic discipline.

Cogut Dissertation Fellowship

The Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies offers a twelve-month dissertation fellowship for graduate students at Brown University who are in the writing stage of their dissertation.
