Dr. Michael Court is a UK trained military physician with over 10 years experience in the deployed and operational medical setting. He has an interest in Disaster and Humanitarian medicine, particularly as it relates to complex humanitarian crisis and civilian - military coordination. He has recently returned from working with the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) in Jordan as part of their ongoing mission to provide healthcare to underserved and isolated populations displaced by the ongoing crisis in the Middle-East. He will reflect on his experience working in the Zaatari refugee camp amongst others as well as consider the challenges to healthcare in the future for these populations.
This lecture is part of the CHRHS Human Security Seminar Series, which brings in leading experts to explore the most pressing issues facing humanity and the diverse organizations who are responding to them. This seminar series, which is open to all, will feature six discussion based lectures over the course of the Spring 2020.
