Starvation as a Weapon of War

Join the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies for a lecture and discussion with Michael Marx, Senior Humanitarian-Military Advisor at the World Food Programme. This lecture will focus on the urgent matter of starvation as a warfare tactic, emphasizing Security Council Resolution 2417’s role in combating the intentional deprivation of civilians’ essential sustenance during armed conflicts. Drawing on his expertise, Marx will explore the complexities surrounding conflict-driven starvation and initiatives aimed at addressing the crucial intersection of food security and armed conflicts.
