6:00pm – 8:00pm
True North Classroom (Room 101), Stephen Robert ’62 Hall, 280 Brook Street
This event will discuss the findings from an ongoing research project being conducted by CHRHS and the Providence-based Refugee Dream Center, that documents the personal experiences of Afghan civilians who worked with the US military in Afghanistan, and who experienced the evacuation from Kabul. This research project serves to better understand civilian perceptions of working with the US military in a warzone, as well as to evaluate the immediate needs of this population for successful resettlement in the US. Using a grounded qualitative approach, data was collected through semi-structured interviews with newly arrived Afghan refugees of all identities.
