Giovanna De Luca
Global Emergency Medicine Fellow
Dr. Giovanna De Luca is currently completing her residency in Emergency Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University as a Brown Residency International/Global Health Training (BRIGHT) scholar. She will be a Global Emergency Medicine Fellow in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brown University starting in August 2023. She has a strong interest in humanitarian medicine and in studying the intersection of emergency care and forced migration. Additionally, she has a focus on medical education. She is currently developing a curriculum for Brown University medical students based on refugee health and has spent the past three years researching effectiveness of formalized emergency medicine training in Kenya. She obtained a Masters in Nutrition from Columbia University where she focused on childhood stunting in post-conflict zones and completed medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
