James N. Green is the Carlos Manuel C├ęspedes Professor of Latin American Studies, the Director of the Brown Brazil Initiative, and the Executive Director of the Brazilian Studies Association. He has authored or co-edited eleven books on Latin American and Brazilian History, including We Cannot Remain Silente: Opposition to the Brazilian Military Dictatorship in the United States. Green also directs the Opening the Archive Project that has digitized, indexed, and made available on an open-access website, 40,000 U.S. government documents on Brazil and the Dominican Republic during the height of the Cold War.
