Senior Policy Analyst (DRR & CCA)

Saadia is an environmental scientist with considerable expertise in community resilience, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, response and recovery coordination. She has successfully reviewed and executed several policies and evaluation projects for The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Monash University Disaster Resilience Initiative (MUDRI) and other international INGOs.

Over the past twelve years, she engaged with Traditional Owners, grassroots, practitioners, and professionals from different ethnicities within APAC countries and worked across universities, government agencies, local and international NGOs. She has strong analytical skills and agile project management capacity to lead teams, secure funding grants, and negotiate effectively with different groups to meet strict project delivery timelines. She also maintains a network among a diverse tapestry of stakeholder relationships within the humanitarian sector.  

Saadia has completed PhD from Monash Business School, specializing in disaster risk reduction and climate policies. She is also a research scholar affiliated with the International Social Science Council (ISSC) and Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) Young Scientists Program.
