Evan Tao: 2024 John Hazen White Intern
2024 John Hazen White Sr. Intern
Class of 2027
Evan Tao is a rising sophomore from Cambridge, Massachusetts, concentrating in International and Public Affairs. At Brown, he is a staff writer for the non-partisan student-run publication Brown Political Review, an admissions tour guide, and a proud member of Brown Debating Union. In his free time, he loves cooking Chinese food and playing Irish folk music. He is passionate about immigrant rights and hopes to be an immigration attorney or state policymaker in the future.
This summer, Evan is interning full-time at Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island, a nonprofit refugee resettlement agency in Providence. As a case management assistant, he assists professional case managers with every step of the resettlement process, including welcoming new arrivals at T.F. Green airport, providing English-Spanish interpretation, helping clients with navigating Rhode Island's public benefits and healthcare systems, and assisting with daily cultural orientation classes.
He is very grateful for the John and Mary Hazen White Internship which has allowed him to fully pursue this commitment to the public interest.
