Bassam Yousif regularly presents and has written extensively on the economic development and political economy of the Middle East, concentrating on Iraq. His work has led to policy consulting and numerous invited lectures. Yousif's book on the development history of Iraq, Human Development in Iraq, 1950-1990, was published by Routledge in 2012. His current research centers on the political economy of revolt in the Arab world.
