Eric Larson, Assistant Professor of Crime and Justice Studies, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Larson's research concerns how local struggles for justice become global and vice versa. By considering social movement histories in the United States and its immediate colonial orbit – Mexico, Puerto Rico, and indigenous land – he examines how racial, national, class, and gender oppressions shape forms of belonging. He is particularly interested in post-1968 histories of globalization, and how movements have embraced and challenged ideas of democracy, multiculturalism, representation, and rights. He received his Ph.D. from Brown University.
