Marta V. Martínez, Director of Nuestras Raíces: Latino Oral Histories of Rhode Island, will lead a workshop on best practices and the fundamentals of oral history interviews.
This event is Part II of a series of community events — pláticas — designed to empower Latinos on how to tell their story to a live audience. You will learn the difference between traditional oral histories and collecting personal stories. Both can be powerful, but they are different art forms.
Event organized by Rhode Island Latino Arts. Funds have been provided in part by the Rhode Island State Council for the Arts and the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities.
