About the Event
In this hands-on workshop, we will use “trots” (a thick translation) to work on drafts of work by a prominent contemporary poet, and to explore some of the ins and outs of literary translation, as well as some of the challenges and opportunities that arise in the translation process. We will focus specifically on translating context, and on finding a cohesive vision for the translation. Students working from any language pairs/combinations are welcome to attend. Although we will be working on a poem, the translation principles discussed will be equally relevant for those people working in prose.
Registration is required for this event.
