CLACS Joins Orbescrito

December 15, 2017

CLACS has recently joined Orbescrito, an inter-academic and international project with the purpose of mapping the existence of archives and private collections of Latin American writers and artists across Latin America, the Caribbean and around the world.

By providing scholars with information about the localization and content of Latin American archives, Orbescrito contributes to the preservation and valorization of precious Latin American cultural and documentary heritage, while fostering research in the study of writing and creative processes.

Currently, Orbescrito engages scholars from the fields of Latin American and Caribbean studies, Linguistics and Comparative Literature. Archivists, librarians and legatees are also involved in the project and have provided consistent data to the enhancement of this collaborative platform so far.

If you are interested in contributing to the project, please contact professor Erica Durante at CLACS.

Institutions mainly involved in the project: National University of La Plata (UNLP) and University of Misiones in Argentina), Centre de Recherches Latino-Américaines, in Poitiers, France, and Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at Brown University.
