On Saturday, October 7th, the Latinx Heritage Series of the Brown Center for Students of Color (BCSC) hosted a Latinx Heritage Month Art Exhibition from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in Leung Family Gallery. For this year’s art exhibition, the theme was feminicidios or “Femicides.” The art pieces displayed represented, in one way or another, the injustices that women face in US, Latin America, South America, and the Caribbean.
The art displayed included paintings, sculpture, video, poetry, publications, and more, as well as a table honoring and remembering women who have disappeared or been murdered in these regions. The event also featured performances by Mariachi de Brown, student artists, community members, and dance groups.
Organized by Latinx Heritage Series programmers Michelle Cruz and Alberto Alberto.
