The Latinx Heritage Series, from the Brown Center from Students of Color, is hosting a Latinx Art Show this October 25th at Leung Gallery.
They want Latinx students at Brown to have the chance to exhibit their paintings or sculptures, recite their poetry, and perform a song or dance! All art forms are welcome! They're also incorporating art pieces from the community in Providence and RISD.
The theme this year is Borders. It should represent in one way or another the myriad of ways - ranging from the deeply personal to the divisively political - that our communities have been affected by and interact with the conception of "borders". The show will serve as a way to interpret and process past and current political situations, while also allowing for healing and mutual support. We hope to create a space for celebration, critical reflection, and visions for a better future!
If you or someone you know wants to participate, please fill out this google form. Submissions are due on October 20th.
