CLACS Announces 2019 Dissertation Prize

The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) is accepting submissions for the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Dissertation Prize. The prize will be awarded to the best dissertation in the area of Latin American and Caribbean Studies written by a current Brown University graduate student from any discipline who will defend and submit the dissertation by April 30, 2019.

Nominations (to be submitted by the student’s dissertation director) are due by 5 p.m. on May 1, 2019.

The nomination must include:

  •  A nominating letter including a brief description of the dissertation.
  •  A copy of the dissertation in pdf format.
  •  An abstract of no more than 4,000 words (fewer is fine) in pdf format.

The CLACS Dissertation Prize carries with it an award of $1,000, which may be paid to the student as a prize or reimbursed against research costs.
