A Deaf School for Peru Screening/Q+A with Alex Laferriere

Following a screening of A Deaf School for Peru, co-producer/director Alex Laferriere of Brown University's Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, and MPA student, described the filmmaking process for this documentary. It's purpose, he explained, is to advocate for government recognition through official policy, a public school serving Deaf students and show the critical educational value of a linguistically accessible learning environment. Two audiences then connected as teachers and students from the school in Peru responded to questions from those attending the Gallaudet screening.
