CLACS is proud to announce that former Sarmiento Fellow and CLACS Affiliated Graduate Student Nicolás Campisi '20 PhD has received a 2021 Joukowsky Outstanding Dissertation Award.
For more information on Campisi's work and this well-deserved recognition, see this news piece published by the Graduate School. It explains that his "dissertation entitled, El retorno de lo contemporáneo: La novela latinoamericana en el fin de los tiempos (The Return of the Contemporary: The Latin American Novel in the End Times) explores how current Latin American fiction addresses a selection of modern issues, ranging from environmental crises and post-dictatorship trauma to economic insecurity and migration."
Nicolás was selected for a Sarmiento Fellowship at CLACS for the spring 2020 semester. The Sarmiento Fellowship is funded by the Sarmiento Flexible Fund for Latin American Studies, which was established through the generous support of Alfredo C. Cassiet, M.D. and Maria-Elena Cassiet. For more information on this opportunity for Brown University undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty, visit our Opportunities page.
Congratulations, Nicolás!
