Aditi Priya & Vineeta — The Pedagogy of Economics and Caste in India

Hosted by Brown Graduate Student, Aarushi Kalra this program will discuss whether the current pedagogy of Economics serves students from diverse caste backgrounds in India. In conversation with two Dalit Economists, we will discuss their experiences of obtaining education in Economics in elite institutions.

Aarushi Kalra is a PhD student in Economics at Brown. Her research interests include Public and Development Economics. Her current research deals with the causes and effects of communal tensions in India. Prior to Brown, she completed her MA in Economics at the Delhi School of Economics, worked at the Center for Development Economics, and taught Quantitative Methods at the Institute of Economic growth, all in New Delhi.

Vineeta has worked as Research Assistant at Centre for Development Economics. She has completed her Master's in economics at Delhi School of Economics and her undergrad in economics from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi. 

Aditi Priya is a Research Associate at LEAD. She completed her Masters in Economics from DSE. Founder- Bahujan Economists.
